Thanks Aratina. Actually, Bronson's video was sent by one of my friends (a fellow Comtesse) because Bronson is a long time friend.
I was watching a bunch of the videos this morning. It's just so moving to see how so many people have struggled just to be accepted or even just not threatened. On the spectrum from Brandon Teena to Tyler Clementi, there is just so much sorrow for some to just be themselves, and to have the same things that the majority have a right to. I watched one from a straight guy, who is biracial, pointing out that fifty or sixty years ago, his parents would have been hassled and told they couldn't marry and shouldn't have children or couldn't adopt children because they were different races. An apt analogy. I really hope it won't take long for everyone to have the same rights. My husband is Spanish and we were so happy went Spain legalized gay marriage. It is astonishing to me to think that Spain is more liberal in its legislations than the US. Their government and their laws have been more progressive than the general population is in many respects. But by granting the rights- to marry, to adopt, to be safe- they are leading their citizens into an enlightened world. If only we could see some of that tolerant leadership here in the States...
I'm really enjoying these, especially the ones you pick out. Thanks for sharing!
